High Expectations: C-Team Basketball

Seven Hills basketball C team believes they can go to the finals again this year. “I believe, I have trust in our guys and I think we can go to the finals this year and win it all,” said Muhammad Raja. In The Seven Hills School, we have three different basketball teams. We are specifically looking at C team basketball. C team basketball is about forming new friendships and winning championships. This shows the energy of this team and the hunger they have to win. So far the C team is 0-1, on a loss since December 11th against the CCD. The score was 18-24. But on the positive side they went on a 16-4 run in the 4th quarter. It wasn’t the best start but they can bounce back especially with the amazing coaches Topmiller and Dante. Topmiller also shows a great attitude toward winning.” I feel like every coach wants their team to win, not because we have an ego and want the credit but speaking for myself when we lose I feel like I let [the] guys down.”

Our group interviewed Muhammad Raja, a member of The C team. This is what Muhammad said about the coaches, Topmiller and Dante. “Topmiller and Dante are very great coaches and are very nice and kind people, and they’re also really nonchalant.” Muhammad believes his team has the strength to win it all. He likes playing basketball for Seven Hills and being a part of the team.

Sid is also a member of C team. He really likes his coaches. He said, “They’re really fun coaches and very good at basketball.” Sid also has high expectations for this season. ”We’re gonna win the championship like last year.” Last year the team made a push and got hot at the right time. Sid described the team in one word as “fun.” This describes the environment around the sport. Topmiller said, “I played basketball in 7th grade because I wanted to play every sport. I was probably 4’8 and just terrible but had a great outlook. Unfortunately, I only played 30 seconds in one game, picked up 2 fouls, 2 rebounds and an assist.” Topmiller loves the chance to be a part of Seven Hills basketball. ”I love coaching and training people.”
