Seven Hills Baseball

Seven Hills School: The Seven Hills baseball team is a dominant team this year in the roster. They have only lost one game this year and are on track for a very successful season. 

Without a coach there would be no team. The Head Coach, Topmiller, guides this team to success. He has been coaching for eight years and is super excited to continue making this his ninth year. Coach Topmiller started with proctoring study halls. He then asked if he could coach baseball. He loves his coaching job because “I love meeting new people.” His favorite memory from coaching baseball is from when he was coaching a 6th grade team and a 4th grader made the game winning out for them. The reason he loves the team this year is “they all seem to have a good baseball IQ and they have a lot of energy.” He truly loves the sport and that is what makes him such a good coach.

  Law Kennedy is the second baseman for the stingers. He has been playing baseball since he was 5. His favorite thing about the sport is the teamwork. His favorite thing about the team is that “we communicate really well and it is a very fun team to be on.” He says the baseball team is so close and communicates so well, they even have a language with touching their ears. His favorite thing to do to prepare for a game is to eat 4 chicken quesadillas. His favorite thing about practice is “how fun they are and I really like using the Fungo bat.” He says this team is great and they all get along very well and “we all enjoy the game.” 

Henry Wenzel, the catcher, says “We work well together because we can make routine plays and not go after anything flashy, as long as it works”. He says baseball is important to him and his team because they have a lot of fun and they are all good at it. Henry started playing baseball in 3rd grade. He has been attached to the sport ever since. Law and Henry agree on their least favorite thing about practicing, and it is running poles. This consists of running to each foul pole and back two times. They also both agree, they love the sport. And they share that love with the team. 

Their normal positions are:

• Ethan – 1st base
• Law – 2nd base
• Theo – shortstop
• Abe/Sid – 3rd base
• Henry – catcher
• Ross – centerfield
• Andrew – right field
• Abe/Kaval – left field

Their uniform consists of: 

• Uniform shirt and pants
• Unicorn “Good luck socks”
• cleats
• Hats 
• Sunglasses

All in all, they have a lot of fun. They also all love baseball, and that is what makes the team work so well together.
