CINCINNATI The Intramurals are friendly sport competitions which take place at lunchtime at the Seven Hills school. When intramurals come to mind, what do you think? Is it Fun? Is it for Community? Or just to play sports? Let’s dive into the real answer now!
Students took a poll answering the question: “Why do you think we do intramurals?” 78 students responded to what they thought the purpose of intramurals was. An estimated 28% do not know the motive for why we have intramurals. 46% of the poll takers thought it was for fun. 7% thought it was about community. So what is the true purpose of intramurals?

An interview with Johnny Kahlil asked for his opinion on why he thought Seven Hills does intramurals. He stated, “I think you do it for lunchtime fun for people that…want to spend time with their friends.”
Last season’s intramural basketball winners were Tripp O’Connell, Henry Liu, Thea Boldt, and Garrett Bean. Garrett said that intramurals are a “fun time to bond.” This shows how the Seven Hills community is enjoying Intramurals, and they are a nice touch
So far, the majority of Seven Hills students believe that the core purpose of intramurals is to have fun and bond with friends.
Will Hyatt thinks differently. He thought the intention of intramurals is to encourage the Seven Hills community to play and be active in sports. He responded to the question with a simple, “To get people to play sports.”

Mrs. Hanley, the leader of intramurals said, “It’s just a way for us to have friendly competitions, meet people that we probably wouldn’t meet, and to build that community within our middle school.”
Not only is Ms Hanley the leader of Intramurals, she is the organizer. She said, “I’m giving up my free time to organize intramurals.” Mrs, Hanley is committed to the students of Seven Hills and provides them with fun.
In all, the thought behind intramurals is to strengthen and create new bonds, and find that sense of community at Seven Hills.
