Working Together: B-Team Basketball

The Seven Hills School Boys Basketball B-Team is a team that works together. Everybody who has played or plays on the B-Team says that the communication between everybody is great, and so is the friendship. Tré Andrews said, “It’s fun, I get to talk to my friends.” Also, since everyone is friends, the bond between them is strong. They don’t have to spend extra time getting to know each other. This extra time is very well spent with developing each player’s skill with Coach Roth. In the words of Kaleb Sarembock, “Coach Roth is nice, a good coach, and he helps us improve a lot.” Tré Andrews said, “I like that Coach is athletic.”

When asked to describe the B-Team in one word, Kaleb Sarembock said, “Wild, sometimes it is serious, and sometimes it is all over the place.” Tré Andrews stated “If I had to describe B-Team in one word, I would say goofy, because half the time everyone is just goofy.”

All of the B-Team players enjoy practicing and playing games for the team, and contributing to the season. When asked if he was excited for the upcoming games, Tré responded by saying, “Yes.” Games are exciting for the players, and players are excited to get a chance to play. Everybody on the B-Team is very willing to participate, making for some very competitive games. All of the players love playing for the team, making the team very fun to be on.

When asked to describe the B-Team in one word, Coach Roth said “opportunity.” The B-Team players have a lot of opportunities to get better throughout the season, and so next year they will have a good chance to make the A-Team. This also means that throughout the season, they will get better, and this has been happening currently. The B-Team had a 0-3 start, but in their game against New Miami they won 37 to 24. Leo Kampel had 22 points.

Finally, Coach Roth expanded on the idea of how the players are all friends and fit into their respective roles by saying this “My favorite part of coaching is seeing all of the players come together and finding their own roles.” All of the B-Team players have their own roles that
