The basketball bash on Thursday the 23rd was open to all of the Seven Hills Community to watch the middle school Boys and Girls basketball A teams showcase their games against Summit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fc53d3b33b77a726aecb125e66473f59\" style=\"color:#061a68\">Seven Hills winter spirit night followed the day after on Friday the 24th. The school was invited to watch the middle school boy&#8217;s A team play against CCD, followed by the junior varsity boy\u2019s basketball game, and finally the boy\u2019s varsity basketball game to end the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c1a0f27be87de19edefbdaa502d9c69d\" style=\"color:#061a68\">Henry Wenzel\u2019s favorite part about spirit night and the basketball bash is \u201cEverybody coming together and uniting as a community\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the whole week there were a range of spirit days to prepare for the exciting events later in the week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-c2ecd5184f215d01e217b01a68415149\" style=\"color:#dab635\">Spirit week<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spirit weeks lead up to every big event at Seven Hills. This year\u2019s winter spirit week consisted of winter pajamas on Tuesday, followed by rhyme without a reason on Wednesday. To commemorate the middle school girls and boys A team playing, the theme was blue-out on Thursday. The last day was Seven Hills spirit wear to represent the school&#8217;s pride.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-912\" srcset=\"https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-1536x1021.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-2048x1362.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0321-135x90.jpg 135w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-71ac5cf65207dc646477b5a715a5fcc3\" style=\"color:#dab635\">Basketball Bash<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To encourage student support at athletic events the school plans a Basketball Bash for students, athletes,\u00a0and the rest of the community. Both middle school basketball A teams played Summit Country Day. The Girls A game launched off the night with a great win, which brought a lot of energy to the crowd.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skylar Tyus said before the game that everyone was calm or as she stated \u201cEveryone seemed fine and just happy.\u201d The environment on the court and in the crowd was great to keep the girls calm, yet lively. Alex Krause says \u201cIt is good to have teammates that can play off of your strengths.\u201d&nbsp; In their interviews, both girls mentioned how they believe skills like getting layups and getting a lot of rebounds is what really helped the team win the game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coach Hanley says she \u201cLoves coaching middle schoolers, I think they are still coachable\u201d and her favorite part is watching the girls get from point A to point B and helping all the players grow closer with bonding experiences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The boys team followed and had a tough loss, but gave their game all they had. Henry Wenzel who plays as a center says \u201cI never get nervous.\u201d&nbsp; While Henry doesn&#8217;t get nervous, he says the best way to help his nervous teammates is to \u201ccheer them up like a good mate.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry describes his coach as \u201cjust a chill guy\u201d when Coach Combs gives pep talks to encourage his team during their games. This year we were able to watch multiple good games. The boys middle school basketball A team kicked off the night against CCD. They had a hard loss, but like the night before gave the game their all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next was a very exhilarating Junior Varsity basketball game. The whole team participated towards the win. Seven Hills dominated the whole game winning 59-27. The crowd showed a new-found liveliness that powered through the whole night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the Junior Varsity game was the Varsity game. This game brought in most of the high schoolers who had a lot of support to show. They had a spirit day where they all wore jerseys.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Varsity Boys played their rivals Cincinnati Country Day. This game was thrilling. Not only with the players but with the support from the fans.
