The boys A team is putting effort into games and practices. The girls A team is having a good season being undefeated so far. This Hive article discusses more about both teams. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Boys A Team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong>\u201cThe players are willing to share the success with others on the team,\u201d said coach Combs, the boys A team coach, when asked about teamwork. Coach Combs played basketball in high school and used his experience to coach basketball now. He has been coaching many different grades at four different schools since 1995. He knows the best ways to help coach the boys to be the best they can be. Lastly, he is very excited about this season. He said this is a good group of talented boys who are coachable. Coach Combs focuses on plays and shots and not just running around to make them better players.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Landon Gerhardt is a seventh grader on the boys A team. \u201cBecause you\u2019re on A you have to be the best of the best,\u201d said Landon. He enjoys the fact that he can be around players he can learn from to become a better player. The A team has a good bond so they can communicate well with each other to have successful outcomes in games. Landon has played basketball since he was in 3rd grade, giving him good knowledge about the sport. He is one of the only 7th graders to make the A team. He looks up to many players on his team including Henry and Tripp. Since the boys help each other out it is a very close knit community.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry Wenzel is an eighth grader on the boys A team. Henry is the \u201cbig man ya know\u201d he said. He plays center and blocks shots and gets rebounds. Henry\u2019s definition of teamwork is, \u201cWhere everybody on the team has to contribute in their own equal way to make something greater happen.\u201d <br><br><br><br><strong>The Girls A Team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coach Marsan is looking forward to this season as it is his first time coaching basketball . \u201cAs a human being you have a mind and a body and you try to focus your mind at school and try to focus your body at sports,\u201d said Coach Marsan, the girls A team assistant coach. Marsan has coached other sports like track and soccer. So far he is enjoying the season and the only part he dislikes is \u201cthe amount of time it takes.\u201d One thing he wants for the girls is that they feel they improved \u201cthe girls are very focused,\u201d he said. He appreciates the way the girls stay focused during practices so they can show the best of their abilities. <br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"612\" height=\"437\" src=\"https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/bball.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-825\" style=\"width:289px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/bball.jpg 612w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/bball-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/bball-126x90.jpg 126w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Sammi Atkinson believes communication is a key element to basketball. \u201cWe communicate well and we know how each person plays,\u201d said Sammi who is a seventh grader on the girls A team. She is good at defense, dribbling and layups but she hopes to get better at shooting. Sammi\u2019s biggest hope for this season is \u201cto become a starter.\u201d She also wants to get to know her teammates better. She describes teamwork as \u201cworking together toward success.\u201dThe team has good communication so they work together well.<br><br><br><br> <strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Both teams share a love for the sport and a willingness to work with their teammates but also find fun in doing it. Both teams have different strengths and weaknesses.
