Their only loss was to Summit Country Day, who they beat in the MVC championship game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u201cI definitely thought the team meshed well together,\u201d Coach Snyder said. \u201cI knew early on that we were going to be a very competitive team just watching how everyone kind of stepped up and played together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team\u2019s only loss to Summit was a close one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"639\" height=\"480\" data-id=\"224\" src=\"https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Screen_Shot_2022-10-19_at_3.01.20_PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Screen_Shot_2022-10-19_at_3.01.20_PM.png 639w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Screen_Shot_2022-10-19_at_3.01.20_PM-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/7hillshive.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Screen_Shot_2022-10-19_at_3.01.20_PM-120x90.png 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we played Summit the first time and went to three games and then lost 35-33, it was just the toughest and most exciting game I\u2019ve coached in a long time,\u201d Snyder said. But after that, Seven Hills never lost again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was kinda hard to stop us,\u201d Snyder said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just before the tournament started, the volleyball team played Summit again and crushed them. \u201cBeating them that second time, I think that\u2019s what gave us the confidence to go into the tournament with [our] heads high, knowing that [we] could do it,\u201d Coach Steuer said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The volleyball team improved significantly during the season. They worked hard in practices and improved by playing more as a team. \u201cBy the end of the season, each of the players found their role and really started to play as a team more than as individuals, and I think that was really key for us overall,\u201d Coach Young said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team members are seventh graders Bianca Patel, Maddie Imrie, Nyah Suttschenko, Marrisa McNerney, and eighth graders Campbell Coyne, Avery Clayton, Anju Green, and Madison Zortman. Kristen Snyder, Lindsey Steuer, and Kyla Morgan Young led the team as coaches.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach girl fitted into a role,\u201d Snyder said. \u201cThey figured out how to make each other better by doing their part to support the team.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nyah and Marissa played outside hitter, with Campbell and Maddie playing back rows. Bianca and Anju performed as all-around setters, while Avery and Madison played middle all-around.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the coaches were extremely pleased with how the season ended and they hope the volleyball program will continue to perform well.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe only hope I would have is that we continue to build the volleyball program,&#8221; Young said. &#8220;I would just love next year to continue to see a lot of girls come out and see that love of volleyball.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Avery Clayton This year&#8217;s volleyball team had a fantastic season finishing with a 15-1 record.
